Internet addiction


Good afternoon everybody. Last class we're talking about different addictions, such as gambling, drugs, internet, etc. Our professor said that time not  necessarily describe an addiction, but things that people don't have control over, e.g., dedicating to much time to chatting, betting money on different casinos, watch excessive hours of TV...

We also discussed the meaning of different words, like fulfillment, turn in, present with, netaholic, workaholic, devoting, etc. I did not know that by adding the suffix -aholic to certain words, we could refer to addictions.

The Bold and the Bashful

Hello, everyone, We all certainly have personality traits that distinguish us from each other. Unit three tells us about two very specific features, which are boldness and bashfulness. In my view, it is funny to see that people would talk about these two features as completely separated from each other to describe others. That is, I do not believe they can be used this way. We cannot use either of these adjectives to entirely describe a person because no one is one thing or the other in its entirety. That is to say, even the people you might consider that possess a great amount of boldness are somehow also bashful, and the same thing occurs with people who are bashful; they can also be bold depending on the circumstances. I was very curious about how these two terms were being employed since in my particular case, even though I am more of an introvert, I consider myself to be both bold and bashful.
