Conference

How to start..... The conference started late (which was good) because the professor arrived "in time" just saying hehehe. I've learnt many things such as: with the coconut they actually make the carpet from Mercedes Benz, a brief history of neo-liberalism, capitalism and world wars....

The presentation was excellent, he mentioned important things to know about the economy in the Dominican Republic, things we have to improve/develope/change and of course things we have to make better as Dominican citizens we are.

I agreed with him that is a shame we have a poor educational system and health care system, sadder is to know that babies die in the hospital because they don't have instruments or doctors/nurses are not available. Or to know that our education is not fully-qualified to prepare good professionals, we can't even compete in PISA! Is something he was always repeating, WE DON'T HAVE PATENTS.

He is a good friend of my professor, it gives me happiness how the professor said such words to his friend, I believe friendship really exists. They have passed through many things.

In the end of the presentation he gaves us a motivational message to all of us (the students) and answered questions asked by the students, despite the country is very corrupt, it doesn't mean we can't reach our goals/dreams or to make the Dominican Republic a better country for our next generation.

THIS IS A BATTLE FOR A DREAM!!

The Bold and the Bashful

Hello, everyone, We all certainly have personality traits that distinguish us from each other. Unit three tells us about two very specific features, which are boldness and bashfulness. In my view, it is funny to see that people would talk about these two features as completely separated from each other to describe others. That is, I do not believe they can be used this way. We cannot use either of these adjectives to entirely describe a person because no one is one thing or the other in its entirety. That is to say, even the people you might consider that possess a great amount of boldness are somehow also bashful, and the same thing occurs with people who are bashful; they can also be bold depending on the circumstances. I was very curious about how these two terms were being employed since in my particular case, even though I am more of an introvert, I consider myself to be both bold and bashful. 🕊️Spiritual Renewal🕊️  Unit 6 ✝️To replenish my soul, to be closer to God, walk with him, and lead a better life you have to read or study the Bible, and when you do it, ask God to give you the wisdom to understand it, to understand the message, you can learn a verse each week or each month, You can make "cilicios" and fast, people do not like to fast or sometimes time is not enough, as we saw in unit 6.
