The Bold and the Bashful
For this unit,
The Bold and the Bashful, I decided to interview my brother Joel Ranses Ortiz
de Jesus. Since this interview was in Spanish, I had to translate it. I asked
him 5 questions. I hope you like it.
1. How
would you describe a bashful person?
I
think a bashful person is someone who is reserved. This person only answer
questions if asked (I supposed he was referring to someone’s performance in
class), and never takes the initiative.
2. How
would you describe a bold person?
In
contrast to a shy person, this one isn’t afraid of making mistakes, likes to
participate in class, and usually takes the initiative. In addition, this person
tends to express his ideas and feelings.
3. Do
you know anyone who is extrovert? How does this person behave?
Definitely.
I have lots of friends from university who are extrovert.
Well,
this people are always surrounded by other people because it’s easier for them
to make new friends. Since this people always break the ice, for example, they’re
more likely to be accepted.
4. Are
you a pessimist or an optimist person?
Well,
I think there are moments on which I consider myself both, pessimist, but
optimist. I mean, when I lack of knowledge in a certain area, I’m likely to be
pessimist because I’m afraid of making mistakes. However, I’m optimist when
taking a test that I’ve already studied for, (laughs).
5. Are
Dominicans bold or bashful?
Hmm…
personally, I think the average Dominican tends to be bold. Dominicans like
meeting new people, sharing their ideas, hanging out, etc. In brief, Dominicans
are outgoing.
