Workplace Privacy
Nowadays, with the advance of technology, employers can easily watch their employees as they work.
From installing cameras to record calls and supervise computers use, our time at the office is getting more and more controlled by supervisors and employers.
I live that daily in my workplace. There are three cameras at the office. My bosses are watching us all the time from the United States and the General Manager watches us from the Dominican Republic. Since American people are so smart on technology, I do not know if there are microphones hidden in the office and I suspect they listen all calls.
I do not feel uncomfortable because of the cameras, because at the end of the day they have to make sure we are working. But the use of microphones in the office violates our privacy and our freedom of speech.
In some aspects it is understandable the use of devices for supervising the activities of the office. If I were an employer, I definitely would use them.
And from an employee point of view, it is not uncomfortable if you are using your time in the office properly and aimed to what you are there for, to work.
Regards!
I agree
ResponderEliminarIt is true everything you say in your composition Linette.I agree that to some extent it is necessary to monitor the work of the employees and I agree that in many cases it is already becoming abuse.I understand that the authorities should do something about it.
