Workplace Privacy
Monitoring employees at work has many advantages as well as disadvantages for them. Some might see it as privacy invasion while others do not consider it a big deal. However, I think that employees should be informed about it. It is not a secret that many companies monitor their workers without telling them about the process. I stand that everybody should be aware of this therefore they will not feel deceived.
One of the advantages of having cameras or any other surveillance device is that the enployers will have total management of the workplace, they will know if the employees are doing their job and they will measure their responsability and performance. Moreover, they can prevent thieves from breaking into or identify them if they do so. Whenever a place is protected, thieves attempt less to enter.
Furthermore, employees can be safer because this action will protect them, too. I dont have anything against surveillance at work.Actually, I am monitored everyday. At the beginning it was difficult but I got used to. Obviously, there are particular places where cameras should not be allowed, for instance: bathrooms or fitting rooms in stores. To conclude, I agree to the notion of installing different devices to keep an eye on people. I even think it is a good idea to have them on public places as well.
